This McKinsey study of 300 companies reveals what every business needs to know about design for 2019

In a sweeping study of 2 million pieces of financial data and 100,000 design actions over five years, McKinsey found that design-led companies had 32% more revenue and 56% higher total returns to shareholders compared with other companies. For years, the design community has been working to build the case that its work has significant business value. A groundbreaking new study by the consulting firm McKinsey & Company can put a number on the impact design has on business.

The team behind UK based design studio Special Projects have unveiled a magic (yes really) new user experience that has to be seen to be believed. The idea is around using physical space to navigate around your device. Although currently just a concept, it’s a great step in the right direction for human-centered design.

Tadashi Kawamata fills Lisbon’s MAAT with plastic to warn about ocean debris

Whether you are switched on to the monumental levels of widespread destruction caused by plastic or you live in a cave and have managed to avoid all news, this exhibition is not one you can avoid. An overwhelming experience of destruction, responsibility and emotion encapsulated in a thought-provoking environment. The museum describes it as “A truly immersive installation, inviting viewers to experience a seascape of remains which follows a fictional ecological catastrophe.”
