All Eyes On: Attention; Reflection; Changing our Attitudes; Time Management and B Corps
This week we’re talking about the battle for our attention, daily moments of reflection, the difference between having to and wanting to, time management and our journey to becoming a B Corp.
The battle for our attention
Our Social Media Intern Jess shared an interesting article last week: Every minute online is a battle for consumer attention. The article is a thought provoking read and also features a rather eye-opening graphic showing the difference between 2018 and 2019 in terms of what happens in a minute on the internet.
Daily moments of reflection
If you follow us on social media (@wearejago) you may have seen our posts last week about our daily moments of reflection. We’ve each been taking just five minutes each morning to reflect on a given theme. This is a great way for us all to just take a few minutes to focus our attention in the mornings before ploughing into our work – but for those of us who spend all day writing, it’s a great place to start! Keep an eye on our social media channels for the prompt each week; we’d love for you to join in with your own reflections!
“I have to” vs “I want to”
Our Business Adviser Steve is in Mozambique at the moment, but he’s still in touch with the team regularly. Last week he shared a brilliant video about the difference between “I have to” and “I want to” – and how it can change our attitudes and how we feel about the things we do during the day. Why not take a look and see if you can improve your outlook this week.

Time management in the digital age
There never seem to be enough hours in the day to fit in everything we want to do, these days; there are so many different things vying for our attention. And ironically we often find that the one thing we really want to do, our passion project that we dream of finishing, is the thing that gets pushed to the bottom of the list or just dropped altogether. We loved this article on Medium from Gillian Sisley about time management and priorities.
Becoming a B Corp
We are in the process of certification to become a B Corp. It’s something we all feel really passionately about, but often when we talk to people about it they’re not really sure what we’re on about! Last week we published a blog answering common questions about being a B Corp, and why we’re going for certification.
